MARCH 2024 RECAP

March 2024 was a very interesting and exciting month for Liv D Photography! It’s usually a very quiet month as a photographer in New England, but I’ve been working on some projects outside of portrait photography that have been keeping me occupied.

In this newsletter I am going to recap 4 big events that happened in March and what I learned from them. :)

Hawk Ridge Winery. Local artist prints and sales

Fable Italian Night

At the beginning of March, I was introduced to the cutest tea, coffee + gift shop on Center street in Southington! I was immediately drawn to this shop, Fable, because of  how incredibly unique, charming and welcoming the space was.

While I was there I was talking with one of the owners, Tina, about the Italian cards that I bought. I was elated that they were selling classic Italian staples, like the cards and the stovetop espresso maker. This led me to reminiscing about my Nonna and how much she loved both of those things. She passed in November and I always light up when I can talk about her.

I mentioned to Tina that I was looking to sell more photography prints this year and she happened to be having an Italian night at their shop on Friday of that week! She invited me to come by that night and bring the photos that I have of Italy! I instantly agreed.

The event was on Friday, March 8th. They had an Italian DJ, and Italian cards, Italy inspired cocktails and groups dancing with tambourines. This was such a fun night, I’m looking forward to more events at Fable! Please take the time to visit the store. I can’t even describe in accuracy how beautiful it is.

Trip Back to Providence College

Okay, onto the next event! On Wednesday, March 20th I had the incredible opportunity to speak with students of the Providence College photo club about my career, and time at PC. I graduated from PC in 2019, and was a part of the club for 4 years. To say this was surreal, would be an understatement. My time at PC was so special and truly shaped my photography career.

I’m looking forward to more opportunities where inspire more photographers and artists to pursue photography as a career or a hobby! 😊

Hawk Ridge Winery

Another exciting opportunity I had in March was displaying my  first high quality, large format framed prints at a local business in Watertown, CT, which is where I grew up. When I was a vendor at Hawk Ridge’s sip and shop in December I noticed that a local artist had their art work on the walls. As I entered 2024, I knew one of my goals was to promote my landscape work. This was the perfect opportunity to start!

On Tuesday March 26th, I had an event where I sold my photography prints and promoted my work. Then on Friday I invited friends and family back to hang out and view my work!! This was an incredible opportunity and I’m so grateful for my friends and family who showed up for me :)

Keep an eye out here and on social media as I will be doing many more events like this later this year!!

NEEP event at Provence Sur Mer

The excitement was ENDLESS this month! I attended my third networking event with New England Event Pros on March 27th at Provence Sur Mer in Newport, Rhode Island. Provence Sur Mer is a new events venue in Rhode Island. Dressing up and making new friends with other business owners in the wedding industry is always a great time.

Overall Learning Experience

One big theme of the month was to always seek new opportunities (big or small), talk about your goals and take every opportunity you get. You never know who you will meet or where they will lead to! :)
